In yet another incident of a minor girl being molested in city schools, a seven-year-old girl was allegedly molested by the gardener of a private school in Central Delhi’s Anand Parbat area. The accused was later arrested by police.
According to police, the incident took place last week inside the school premises. The girl, who is a Class II student, alleged that the gardener molested her for around a month or so. He threatened her saying he would take a pair of scissors and harm her if she ratted him out. After school hours, he used to take her near the washroom and touch her inappropriately.
The girl came back home last week and did not speak to anyone. When her mother asked her to go to the school, she refused saying she was unwell. She finally revealed her ordeal and told her mother that the school gardener had misbehaved with her.
The parents then approached the school authorities who sacked the gardener. The victim’s parents informed police and a case was registered. The accused, identified as Shankar, was soon arrested by police. A case under section 354 (molestation) and Protection Of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was registered at Anand Parbat police station.
