The Delhi BJP president Vijay Goel on Sunday lambasted the Congress Government for not fulfilling its promises made in the party’s manifesto.Addressing a Press conference, Goel said promises made by the Congress in its manifesto were never fulfilled. In 2003, the Congress talked about getting full Statehood for Delhi, but no step was taken to grant full statehood to the Capital.
The ruling party had also promised extension of lal Dora but this promise is yet to be fulfilled.“A development board for lower middle-class Government employees and industrial workers shall be constituted with sufficient funds at its disposal. Similarly, in rehabilitation of JJ cluster, the Congress promised a fresh look to those residing in the unit.
In 2008’s manifesto, the Congress further said that around 10 lakh dwelling units are being constructed to relocate slum dwellers/urban poor under Rajiv Rattan Awas Yojana but, only 10,000 houses were ready for allotment, said the president. He alleged that the Congress in its manifesto had stated that construction of the 650-bed Rajiv Gandhi super speciality hospital at Tahirpur was likely to be completed by December 2004.
However, the current status of it is that only one OPD is still operational and the hospital is not fully-functional till now. The BJP has a track record of fulfilling its promises in States under its reign. After coming to power in Delhi, the party will implement the development model, which is based on long-term vision and meticulous planning. “We believe in corruption-free development, while the Congress believes in making development-free corruption,” he added.
