A crucial meeting of BJP MlAs will take place on Wednesday morning to ‘explore the feasibility’ of Government formation in the national Capital. Delhi BJP president Satish Upadhyay will convene the meeting with 29 legislators and seek their inputs on the current political situation.
Sources said the party leadership has sought the opinion of MlAs on whether to form the government or go to re-elections. They said the pros and cons of party’s future strategy will also be discussed at length in the meeting and if a consensus is reached, the same will be conveyed to BJP’s Central leadership. The meeting of BJP MlAs has got wider significance given their ‘unwillingness’ for another election.
Meanwhile, the Delhi BJP president also held a meeting with party’s office bearers on Tuesday evening at the party headquarters. This was followed by another meeting with BJP MPs in the Capital wherein several development related issues and political affairs were discussed. The meeting was attended by Delhi BJP in-charge Prabhat Jha and Organisation Secretary Vijay Sharma but Union Health Minister and Chandni Chowk MP Dr Harsh Vardhan was missing. According to the BJP, it was a routine meeting to discuss the organisational activities in the BJP. It was also decided in the meeting that the BJP MPs in Delhi will make optimum utilisation of their fund for development works in the national Capital till a new Government is formed. Senior BJP leader OP Kohli, who has been appointed the Governor of Gujarat, was also felicitated on the occasion. It is noteworthy that Kohli had previously occupied the post of Delhi BJP president.
