The Delhi BJP, on Tuesday, laid down the blueprint for launching a massive membership drive in the national Capital. Eyeing a clear majority in the upcoming polls, all the leaders of the saffron party have been directed to take the campaign online for the first time. The party has set a target of 15 lakh memberships to be achieved by January 15.
To accelerate the party’s membership campaign, the Delhi BJP on Tuesday organised a workshop for its top morchas, cells and districts office bearers. Party’s national organisation general secretary Ram lal, national vice president and Delhi’s in-charge Prabhat Jha, national membership campaign in-charge Dinesh Sharma were among the others present in the workshop.
Delhi BJP president Satish Upadhyay said, “We have stressed upon enlisting membership through online methods. Besides, people can call on 1800-266-2020 and join the party.” The initial counts of online membership reveal that Delhi is very active, he added.
“It is the duty of active members and leaders to enrol maximum number of common people as new members. Delhi team should try to make up to one lakh members in every constituency as this will help during the ensuing Vidhan Sabha elections. The aim is to enrol maximum number of members proportionate to the population,” said Ram lal. Besides, the district presidents have been directed to put up hoardings and other publicity material all over the city to attract maximum number of people towards party’s membership campaign as this publicity would give dual benefit just before the elections in Delhi.
