BJP turns up heat on Bharti ouster

The BJP MlAs on Monday staged a protest outside the office of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal seeking removal of law Minister Somnath Bharti. All 31 BJP legislators and the lone Akali Dal legislator led by their leader Dr Harsh Vardhan sat outside Kejriwal’s office for two hours and demanded action against Bharti’s repeated misconduct.

The MlAs held up placards demanding the Minister’s ouster and raised slogans against him.

Taking note of BJP protest, Kejriwal came out of his office and had a brief chat with Vardhan.

BJP protest ended within two hours. Talking to mediapersons, Vardhan said that the issues raised by the legislator were serious and AAP needs to introspect.

“The issues and questions which have been raised by Binny are serious and people of the country want to know the answers. Kejriwal should introspect and answer these questions seriously,” he said while maintaining that Binny’s expulsion was AAP’s internal matter.

“We have written an open letter to Kejriwal demanding that the law Minister should be sacked. We will fight till our demands are met. We will even take it up with the President,” the BJP leader said.

Vardhan said that the judiciary has also condemned and harshly criticised the acts of Arvind Kejriwal and his law Minister which was against the law.
