The unfulfilled promises of the AAP Government in Delhi will be the BJP’s major poll plank in the national Capital in 2014 lok Sabha polls. The Delhi BJP will constitute a monitoring committee to keep a close watch on functioning of the Government and also prepare a ‘chargesheet’ against the Government. Emphasis will be laid on the AAP’s promises of tacking corruption, Jan lokpal and timely redressal of public grievance.
Delhi BJP president Vijay Goel said a majority of the promises made by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his party has been misleading and hence the monitoring committee will be entrusted with the task to prepare a report on them.
“The monitoring committee will act like a watchdog and prepare a detail report on the promises as will as overall functioning of the Government. The BJP leaders, workers and volunteers will expose their hollow promises in public,” Goel said. He said most of the promises made by the AAP like Jan lokpal are practically impossible and the party has been raking them up for immediate political gains.
Well-placed sources said the monitoring committee will have party’s office bearers, senior MlAs and councillors as its members. The committee that is likely to be constituted by next week will examine the functioning of the Government and prepare the report that will be bought before the public during campaigning for the lok Sabha polls. Sources said instructions for forming the committee has come from the central leadership that will be supervised by senior leader Arun Jaitley. Further, the party plans to present those reports in other States where the Aam Aadmi Party intends to contest the General Elections. “The AAP has entered into an alliance with the Congress with the sole objective of keeping the BJP away from power. We will expose the AAP; caution them against imprudent decisions. At the same time, the BJP will offer solutions to the issues concerning Delhiites,” Goel said.
The BJP president alleged that the AAP Government has so far only betrayed people in the name of fulfilling their promises; be it 50 per cent subsidy on power tariff or 667 litres of free water. “More than 90 per cent of Delhi’s population will be deprived of these benefits.
