Day after Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) flagged irregularities in financial administration of national Capital, Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari said the findings of CAG indicate that a scam has taken place.
Citing the numbers of fake ration cardholders in the city, Tiwari said act of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is quite similar to that of ‘Rastriya Janta Dal’ (RJD) chief lalu Prasad.
Terming Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal as “Chhota lalu”, the BJP leader said that like fodder scam in Bihar, Delhi is witnessing a ration scam as the CAG report points out.
“No one can escape from our strong judicial set up and lalu’s conviction is an example of it,” he added.
He also demanded Delhi Chief Minister’s resignation.
BJP leader and Member of Parliament from New Delhi Meenakshi lekhi said the CAG report has exposed that “the Kejriwal Government is a corrupt Government”.
Taking jibes at the doorstep delivery system, the BJP leader said that vehicles used for ration delivery are not registered with the Government.
“This is a big scam, the ration, which should be at the doorstep of poor people, is being transferred to their own people by using scooters and others not registered vehicles,” said Member of Parliament Ramesh Bidhuri.
Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia had on Tuesday tabled CAG report which highlighted untracked funds amounting to Rs 7,270 crore and instances where ration shop owners cornered subsidised grains meant for the poor.
Responding to the CAG findings, Sisodia has said, “We have identified the rigidity in the system and will remove the shortcomings and take action against those responsible for it, whether they are Ministers or officers”.
Kejriwal attacked lieutenant Governor Anil Biajal for rejecting AAP Government’s proposed doorstep delivery sacheme and charged him for being in league with the “Ration Mafia”.
“This is what the lt-Governor is trying to protect by rejecting our doorstep delivery of rations. The entire system is in the grip of the Mafia protected by the political masters,” the Chief Minister had alleged.
