The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) criticised the demand of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to exempt the students of Delhi from the annual Board Examinations. Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari said that from the day it came to power Arvind Kejriwal Government has been claiming to be committed to giving best educational atmosphere in Delhi Government Schools.
“All through ruling AAP demanded that the Central Board of School Education (CBSE) to reintroduce Board exams for Class 10th students all over the country but when CBSE has decided to discontinue Semester Evaluation and switch back to annual Board Exam system, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia reportedly wants exemption for class 10th students of Delhi Government Schools,” Tiwari said in a statement on Tuesday.
Tiwari highlighted the claims of Sisodia, who is also the Education Minister underlining his speech in the Delhi Assembly. He said that the Minister had claimed that Delhi Government Schools are best schools in the country and their Government is making highest proportionate budgetary contribution in the country.
“Also the education Minister, Sisodia very well knows that there is a major shortage of teachers in Delhi Government Schools, laboratory facilities in most schools specially in rural areas is very poor and the school infrastructure is not equipped enough to prepare students for competitive environment. Thus, once the board exam system is brought the hollowness of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s claims of giving best educational infrastructure will fall flat. Sisodia is trying to put off the introduction of Board Exams for 2 years that is for his Government’s present term,” Tiwari alleged.
Delhi BJP president has said that Manish Sisodia’s reported plea to exempt Delhi Government school students from class 10th Board exams is an admission of poor standards of Kejriwal Government’s school education system.
