Before it goes to the public for their mandate in the upcoming Assembly polls, the Delhi BJP is seeking their participation for preparing the roadmap for the same. Eyeing to regain power in the national Capital after a gap of 15 years, the party has sought suggestions from RWAs, NGOs and prominent people from various spheres of life in making the party’s manifesto for the crucial elections.
As the BJP leaders put it, involving the citizens will prove fruitful as they have a better understanding of the problems in the city and their suggestions would help BJP in envisaging all-round development of the Capital. The BJP is likely to prepare its manifesto by October 15.
For this purpose, the party workers will be interacting with Resident Welfare Associations, market and traders association, NGOs, academicians, security experts, lawyers, medical experts and distinguished citizens of the society. Their inputs will be discussed and incorporated in the BJP's manifesto that is likely to be completed within two weeks.
"We have invited nearly 1,000 people from all walks of life for their inputs and demands from the BJP. This will help us identify the issues concerning Delhiites and chalk out a consolidated plan for their redressal," said Dr Harsh Vardhan, senior BJP leader and convenor of the Manifesto Committee. He said the party has already approached the RWAs seeking their views. "We have started receiving their inputs. On studying the suggestions, we will incorporate them in the manifesto," he added.
Dr Harsh Vardhan has also shot a letter to the party workers and citizens seeking their advice as well. "Delhi people want to get rid of Congress' misrule and are now looking up to the BJP. Being closely associated to the general public at large, you have a better understanding of the problems and expectations of the public from the BJP for a solution to them. The BJP's manifesto should be such that it incorporates each and every aspect of public welfare and all-round development of the Capital. The exercise aims at instilling trust among the voters. Our endeavour is to create an atmosphere that safeguards the interests of the people from all classes and age-groups," the BJP leader appealed through the letter.
Meanwhile, another member of the manifesto committee said that the party will be forming five groups to interact with different groups of people. As per the plan, each member of the Manifesto Committee would lead a group and they would be meeting representatives of RWAs, NGOs, market associations, and academicians from the Delhi University, JNU and Jamia Millia Islamia, security experts, medical practitioners and lawyers, among others.
