BJP MlAs on Thursday met the lt Governor Najeeb Jung urging him to ensure that the Delhi Government tables Fourth Delhi Finance Commission Report and Jan lokpal Bill in the coming session of the Vidhan Sabha.
The three BJP MlAs, including leader of Opposition in the Assembly Vijender Gupta, met Jung at his office and alleged that the Delhi Government is "strategically dilly-dallying" introduction of the Finance Commission report and Jan lokpal Bill in the Assembly.
Also, they expressed concern about the "efforts" of the Kejriwal Government to "dilute" lokayukta Act making it "toothless".
The delegation also, including MlAs OP Sharma and Jagdish Pradhan, requested the l-G to "advise" the CM to rise above politics and immediately take steps to introduce these two "key issues" in the Vidhan Sabha and adopt them in the interest of welfare of people and development of the city.
Gupta alleged that the Government is not putting the Finance Commission report on the table of the Vidhan Sabha since it wants to "stifle and financially starve" the three Municipal Corporations ruled by BJP, in view of the elections to the local bodies scheduled in early 2017.
