Criticising Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for adopting a ‘pick and choose policy’ in dealing with his own Ministers embroiled in corruption cases, Delhi BJP alleged that the CM is acting more like a stuntman who just wants to be seen fighting corruption rather than actually working towards getting rid of this menace within his party and the Government.
“In Sunday’s meet of MlAs and their families, the tainted Ministers such as JitenderTomar, Manoj Kumar, Somanath Bharti were invited while Asim Ahmad was kept out of it. The entire set up was organised as a face saving exercise for the Delhi CM who wants to clear his own image in the eyes of the public,” said Vijender Gupta, leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly.
According to the Opposition, the meeting was nothing more than a theatrical gimmick on corruption. “CM Kejriwal sacked Asim Ahmed Khan in an instant. However, the rest of the tainted Ministers, MlAs in the Delhi Government and Aam Aadmi Party functionaries have still not faced any action for their immoral acts. None of them has been dismissed from their post or disqualified from the party. The most recent case of corruption has been of Shakeel Malik who is accused of running builder mafia gang in the walled city,” he added.
The sacked Minister Asim Ahmed said that the other voice in the tape, based on which he has been shown the door, is of Shakeel Malik who is striking a deal of crores of rupees. Shakeel Malik is the regional head of AAP’s Minority Morcha and is a close associate of CM Arvind Kejriwal. He collected the money from builders for the AAP during elections and that is why he was also appointed as the vice-president of Uttar Pradesh Unit of the AAP.
