In addition to several assurances, Delhi BJP in its manifesto on Tuesday also said it would reserve 85 per cent seats in Delhi Colleges for the students passing from Delhi schools. On the occasion of manifesto release on Tuesday, BJP’s chief ministerial candidate Dr Harsh Vardhan said, “The Congress is so blind to the problems of its people that only 11 lakh youth have been registered in employment exchange in Delhi till date. To facilitate employment generation opportunities for the youth, the BJP Government would constitute Atal Yuva Mission, which aims to set up IT zones in Najafgarh, Narela and Bijwasan. Training would be provided for drivers and domestic helps.”

He further went on to blame the Congress of ‘cheating’ the poor in the name of Rajiv Ratan Awas Yojana five years ago, and said the BJP would ensure in-situ construction of multi-storeyed houses for jhuggi dwellers under its Atal Bihari Vajpayee Jan Punarvas Yojana.

The manifesto speaks of a number of commissions to be formed once the BJP comes to power. To start with Harsh Vardhan promised to set up a Senior Citizen Commission to address their concerns. A Migrants Commission will also be created to address the welfare of the large number of migrants settled in Delhi. The party also vowed to form a Madarsa Board to promote education among the Muslim women and children and to remove encroachment from Waqf properties. Again, In order to ensure speedy trials, the BJP said its Government would set up a Speedy Justice Commission.
