BJP rebuffs AAP's 'conspiracy' theory

The allegation against top BJP leaders and media of conspiring to topple its Government is only an addition to Aam Aadmi Party’s tactic which the party has adopted to counter its opponents.

Cornered from all sides for its inability to deliver on its promises, the AAP leaders went berserk on Monday and dragged the names of Narendra Modi and Arun Jaitley in their latest barb. However, like always, AAP MlA Madan lal and key member Sanjay Singh failed to produce any documentary evidence to substantiate their allegations. This invited strong criticism from the BJP which slammed the AAP leaders of creating a mess in Delhi politics. The BJP said even after coming to power, the AAP has failed to change its mindset and its ‘lust’ for cheap publicity is only on the rise.

Jaitley, whom Madan lal accused of ‘poaching’ AAP legislators, retorted saying falsehood was a fundamental right in AAP’s style of politics. “Rubbish claims by AAP. AAP’s alternative politics includes a fundamental right to falsehood and lies,” Jaitley tweeted rubbishing the allegations. lal alleged that a person close to Modi had offered him `20 crore to split the party and promised to make him Chief Minister if he could do so. Also, he claimed that on midnight of December 7, an unidentified person had telephoned him, saying a prominent leader wanted to talk to him. “When I asked him who wanted to talk to me, he said Arun Jaitley. After hearing Jaitley’s name, I disconnected the phone. I could not make a call back on the unknown number,” lal said.

However, he was at loss of words and proof to substantiate his allegations. He also found himself in difficulty responding to media queries as to why he did not record the telephonic conversation despite teaching common men how to conduct sting operations of bribery. To this, a rather silly excuse came from the MlA. “I didn’t have such a device. Besides, I didn’t want to record the conversation against BJP as this is just my allegation and I don’t want to fall into any legal cases,” he said in stark contrast to his Government which sees sting operations as ultimate solution to fight corruption.

“Cornered from all sides, the AAP Government is resorting to such dirty tricks to divert public attention from core issues. The allegations against BJP leaders are baseless. They have created a mess in Delhi politics. The Government is accountable to nothing and AAP leaders have no sense of responsibility. All in the party are just playing around with governance and public sentiments,” said senior BJP leader Vijender Gupta.

He said it is beyond comprehension as to what would they achieve by making such allegation without any legal backing.
