The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday lashed out at the BJP for playing dirty politics and sabotaging the excise policy of Delhi.
Addressing a press conference, AAP MLAs Atishi and Saurabh Bhardwaj hit out at the BJP and the Lt Governor for coming out in defence of the former Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal and asked, “What is your problem if CBI investigates the matter, looks into the questions raised by the Deputy Chief Minister? Why are you scared?”
Atishi said that the developments that have transpired today have made it pertinent to ask the BJP why it fears being investigated. “Deputy Chief Minister, Manish Sisodia who also happens to be the minister of excise, raised several important questions about the functioning of the Delhi LG. He has accused the LG of causing losses to the exchequer amounting to thousands of crores by modifying the New Excise Policy 2021-22 overnight. What I fail to understand is why is the BJP National Spokesperson issuing clarifications on behalf of the LG? Why is the BJP scared of a CBI probe into the LG’s doings?,” she questioned.
