In no mood to abide by what the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had to offer on the second day of its emergency session, the three BJP MlAs in the 70-member Delhi Assembly walked out of the House twice.
Before the Session could start, BJP MlA Om Prakash Sharma argued with Speaker Ram Niwas Goel on the unconstitutional language used by AAP Ministers during the first day of the Session.
Sharma and leader of Opposition Vijendra Gupta opposed AAP’s policies and formulations. They criticised the Delhi Government for not being able to solve problems related to water and electricity and blamed it for calling out the session unnecessarily.
Replying to OP Sharma’s accusations, the Speaker said specific words were deleted and requested the Ministers present not to use any names of people in absentia.
Protesting against the unfulfilled promises of the AAP, the BJP pulled off black ribbons and placards and walked out of the House for the first time only to come back after five minutes.
They were mocked by the AAP Ministers with slogans, “go back”. During the session, OP Sharma raised the issue of workers and said, “Though AAP has increased the minimum wages of labourers it couldn’t end their exploitation by the contractors.”
While Vijendra Gupta criticised the AAP for its stand on the media, MlA Jagdish Pradhan requested the AAP to work in coordination with the Centre. The Session witnessed another walkout by the BJP.
