Calling Delhi Commission for Women a “biased” body, BJP MlA OP Sharma expressed dissatisfaction with the proceedings in DCW and refused to attend the summons on Thursday. While DCW has asked Sharma to appear on August 27 along with the CCTV footage of the Press conference, wherein he called AAP MlA Alka lamba a drug addict, the BJP MlA has refused to attend any more summon.
Holding that DCW chairperson Swati Maliwal is working as “core-member” of Aam Aadmi Party Government, Sharma said, “It seems that the DCW chairperson is favouring Alka lamba as she belongs to AAP. She was trying to put words in my mouth by asking the same question in many ways.”
The DCW had issued summons to BJP legislator OP Sharma in connection with Aam Aadmi Party MlA Alka lamba’s complaint against him over alleged use of foul language. Maintaining that lamba’s act of vandalism shown in the sweet shop is nothing short of hooliganism, Sharma said that anyone who indulges in physical violence can only be termed a hooligan.
Sharma has been again summoned by DCW on August 27. “They have all the CCTV footage of my Press conference. I answered all their questions and nothing needs to be answered anymore. Therefore I don’t need to go for any more summons,” he added. Taking a dig at AAP, Sharma said that AAP leaders Kumar Vishwas and Somnath Bharti never appeared before DCW, which is an insult to the body.
AAP MlA Alka lamba was injured when someone allegedly threw a stone at her during an anti-drug drive. A video clip later showed her vandalising shops along with some of her supporters. She had lodged a complaint on the same day with the DCW against Sharma alleging he used foul language against her calling her a “drug addict” and threatened her of dire consequences.
