BJP Mahila Morcha held a demonstration against AAP Government’s MlA Somnath Bharti on Thursday following a case filed by Bharti’s wife lipika Mitra in the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) accusing him of domestic violence and mental assault.
Representing women power and the issue of safety for women, the protesters raised slogans and maintained a view that if the wives of party officials are not safe at home, how will Government provide security to the women in Delhi.
Talking to The Pioneer Shikha Rai, BJP Delhi vice president, said “We simply want justice for lipika. AAP has always accused the BJP of conspiracy behind everything. So is the problem of domestic violence continuing from four years at someone’s house also due to BJPIJ”
The procession started from the corner market at Malviya Nagar and halted before Bharti’s office. Women bureaucrats Rekha Gupta, Vishakha Sahlani, Kiran Chadha, and Preeti Aggarwal, among others, gathered for speaking up against Bharti and targeting the Kejriwal Government.
