Protesting against Delhi Government’s ‘insensitive’ attitude towards women in the city, Delhi BJP’s women cell on Tuesday staged a demonstration at Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit’s residence.
The protesters took out a march from Ashoka Road to her residence and demanded action against the culprits behind Pavitra Bhardwaj’s suicide. She was allegedly subjected to sexual abuse by the principal of the college. “The incident highlights the inability and insensitivity of the Delhi Government in addressing concerns of women. Pavitra had to run from pillar to post to lodge a complaint of sexual harassment, but no one from the Government responded to her plaints,” said Delhi BJP president Vijay Goel.
