Furious over the new liquor excise policy, the Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) conducted a referendum drive at various places across the city on Friday and slammed the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), alleging that the liquor policy was the biggest threat to women and youth in the national Capital.
Led by senior leaders, the BJP conducted referendums at 1,120 places across the city. Hitting out at the AAP-led Delhi Government, the BJP national vice-president and Delhi incharge, Baijayant Jay Panda said, that the excise policy of the AAP Government was the biggest threat to women and youth of Delhi. “In his past seven years neither did his Government give any employment nor did it fulfil any of the promises,” claimed Panda.“About 99 per cent of Delhiites believe that the new ‘Sharab Niti’ is actually a ‘Kharab Niti’ under the guise of which in the name of augmenting revenue, he is actually filling up his own pockets and playing with the future of the youth and women,” said Adesh Gupta, State president, BJP. Gupta alleged that the AAP Government does not care about the law and they mislead the courts.“Instead of fulfilling their promise to start 500 new schools, colleges etc. the AAP Government has actually done job of giving contracts to liquor mafia which raises a big question mark on the future of youngsters and the security of women,” Gupta alleged.
“The AAP is in league with the liquor mafia and the Delhi Government’s new scheme of offering a free bottle on purchase of a liquor bottle has even induced the daily wager to stand in queue for it without caring for his own health or the well-being of his family,” said Gupta.
Delhi BJP senior leader, Ramvir Singh Bidhuri said that Kejriwal is hell bent upon pushing Delhi towards alcoholism and the BJP would never tolerate this.
