leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley on Sunday said the BJP is receiving overwhelming support from all sections of the society and exuded confidence that it will return to power in the Capital.
He said the BJP will ensure good governance in the Capital that will help Delhi regain its past glory. “Today, the challenges before us are bigger and more complicated. Besides the issues plaguing the common man, we also want the economy to have a sustained high growth so that jobs are created for the many unemployed youth. The political class should shed its hypocrisy and work for the uplift of the people in a sincere and transparent manner and help eliminate corruption in all forms,” Jaitley said, addressing a public meeting in support of BJP candidate from Greater Kailash, Ajay Kumar Malhotra.
Jaitley said education and healthcare should be made affordable and accessible. “Infrastructure — be it roads, rails, bridges, ports or airports — should be developed. The spate of scandals, especially the 2G Spectrum scam, Coalgate, have strengthened our resolve to fight corruption and we want the present situation to change and change fast,” he added.
Addressing his first public meeting after filing of nomination on Saturday, Malhotra assured the voters that he would work for development of the area that has also been represented in the Assembly by his father Vijay Kumar Malhotra.
