BJP girds up to expose AAP Govt

Published on:

leader of the Opposition Vijender Gupta said the BJP is all set to expose the double speak of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the special Assembly session on women security called on Tuesday.

BJP MlAs will raise question on the status of the innumerable poll promises made by the AAP regarding the women rights and security in their election manifesto, the party said.

“In almost six months of coming to power, not even a single poll promise has been fulfilled. The Delhi Government is only wasting public money by calling a special session, since the actual motive is to remain in news. The Assembly session would be used as a platform to blame the Central Government and the Delhi police,” he said.

Pointing out to page number 23 and 24 of AAP’s election manifesto, Gupta said it has been clearly mentioned that if the AAP came into power in Delhi it would provide effective and safe last mile connectivity in the Delhi’s public transport.

The Delhi Government would ensure an effective combination of shared autos, metro feeder services and e-rickshaws etc. so that women can reach home safely, it was mentioned. Also, the party had stated that CCTVs would be installed in public places, buses, bus stops and crowded places.

The AAP Government had promised that it would make such arrangements that women will feel completely secure while travelling in public transportation, he said. Moreover, it had also assured voters that it would utilise the entire fiscal, financial and administrative might to ensure that women security is ensured on priority basis.

“Fast-track courts would be created and completed on a large scale to provide speedy justice to women in Delhi. Other than that AAP would operationalise new courts and new judges would be appointed. If required, the courts would run in two shifts and it would ensure that the all the cases related to women security are decided within six months,” he added.
