With nearly 2,700 buses and high-tech lED screens, even at railway stations and ISBTs, the BJP is pulling out all the stops to make the January 10 rally of Prime Minister Narendra Modi a grand success in poll-bound Delhi. Meanwhile, the venue, Ramlila Maidan, is being spruced up with its boundary walls being strengthened and a huge stage being constructed.
As the Delhi BJP is targeting an audience of over one lakh for the event, it has constituted 12 committees, which will look after the preparations of transportation and decoration at Ramlila Maidan. “lED screens are being installed at the venue so that more people can watch PM Narendra Modi. Besides, we have made sitting arrangements for more than one lakh people here at Ramlila Maidan,” said Ashish Sood, who is in-charge of venue.
With the PM’s rally, BJP will kickstart its campaign to capture power in the national capital after a gap of 16 years. Party is also considering installing big lCD screens at various ISBTs, railway stations and big markets across the national capital so that people can watch the live telecast of Modi’s speech. “We want that people who are not able to come to the venue can also watch Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We are considering installing big lCD screens at railway stations, ISBTs and big markets in city so that they can watch PM live,” said Delhi BJP chief Satish Upadhyay.
Upadhyay also said that chief ministers of Jharkhand, Haryana and Maharashtra will also be attending Modi’s rally on January 10. Apart from that, district presidents of the party have been asked to submit daily reports to the state BJP office. Party has also installed hoardings - ‘Chalo Chale Modi Ke Saath’ across the national capital to draw more people to the venue.
BJP national general secretary (Organisation) Ram lal had on December 30 directed party leaders and workers that from each sahari kendra (polling centre), one bus should be arranged so that a large number of people come to hear Modi’s speech. He had also asked its Delhi unit leaders to put up only Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s photo on electoral hoardings and posters with the party’s slogan of ‘same Government in the State and at the Centre’.
