BJP, Cong want Kejri on bended knee for knee-jerk 'insult'

The Congress on Sunday lambasted AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal for saying that people should accept money from both the Congress and the BJP, but they should vote only for his party. BJP has now demanded a public apology from Kejriwal in this regard.

Congress chief spokesperson Ajay Maken said Kejriwal’s statement was an insult to the people of Delhi for which he should tender a public apology. “We are seeking legal opinion on Kejriwal’s statement to see whether we should complain to the Election Commission as he had violated the Model of Code of Conduct.”

Maken, who is the party’s chairman of the campaign committee, said he wanted to remind Kejriwal how one of his candidates had been throwing currency notes in the open after winning a Delhi Cantonment Board seat. “This is the same party which has spent the maximum money on advertisements for the coming elections.”

Maken said there were AAP hoardings all over the city. “They are aggressively campaigning on radio. I must tell you one has to spent money for advertising on radio.” He charged the AAP for spending so much money on advertisements and accused it of doublespeak by blaming other parties for indulging in such activities.
