In order to encourage its party members to contribute more towards achieving their goals, the BJP on Sunday conferred the Karmayogi Award on Dipok Kumar Barthakur from Assam. The award was given at the first ever executive meet of the National Executive Committee of North East India Sampark Cell.
In the meet, held at BJP’s national office at Ashoka Road, delegates from all over India presented the blueprint of the work done in the last session and the roadmap for the future. The function was inaugurated by National Vice President of BJP, SS Ahluwalia, who also presented a detailed roadmap for North East India narrating the strategy to be taken in the region.
Other members who spoke on the occasion were Nalin Kohli, in-charge of Mizoram State BJP, and Sunil Deodhar, the cell’s national convenor. “Regular and continuous communication is essentially required between the people of North East and rest of India so that national integration gets established. There should be cultural exchange programmes and events on a regular basis in order to establish cultural and social bond with the region,” said Kohli.
