BJP blames Min Kapil for giving wrong funds info

Delhi BJP media incharge, Praveen Shankar Kapoor has alleged that the AAP Government’s Minister Kapil Mishra misled the people of Delhi by giving “wrong” facts and figures about the financial situation of Municipal bodies.

“It is all a game to further delay the implementation of 4th Delhi Finance Commission recommendations,” he said and added that Delhi Government’s statement came out of frustration after the BJP unveiled the facts related to the issue.

“We challenge the Delhi Government to present any letter written by Municipal Commissioners stating that they have received all payments as per the recommendations of the 3rd Delhi Finance Commission. We will put complete details before the citizens of Delhi but first I would like to inform Mishra who himself belongs to East Delhi that the Delhi Government has given it Rs465 crores under the non plan head and their revenue from various sources for this year is around Rs 650 crores making it a total of Rs1115 crores,” he added.

He further added, “EDMC’s salary bill alone is of Rs1200 crores for the current year, apart from which there are expenses on maintenance on schools, dispensaries, hospitals, parks. Purchase of medicines, pension bills, sanitary and other vehicles at a basic calculation all adds up to over Rs1700 crores and EDMC has just Rs1115 crores. If the 4th DFC is implemented only then can EDMC come out of its economic problems.”
