The BJP Legislature Party in the Delhi Assembly on Tuesday expressed displeasure that the Question and Answer Hour has been arbitrarily removed in the Budget session starting from February 15 and said the party will meet the President to demand the dissolution of the Assembly.
Making this assertion here, Leader of Opposition Ramvir Singh Bidhuri said even in previous assembly sessions, members were consistently deprived of their constitutional right to ask questions. The Kejriwal government is running the assembly in a dictatorial and undemocratic manner, he said.
In view of this situation, we will meet the President and demand the dissolution of the Assembly because the rationale of the Assembly has ended, and its existence is in danger, Bidhuri said.
Before the assembly session, a meeting of the BJP legislature party was held under the chairmanship of Bidhuri in which a resolution was passed that in view of the unconstitutional and undemocratic attitude of the Kejriwal government, nothing is expected from this government.
This government is neither accountable to the Assembly, nor to the opposition, nor to the public. The government has taken away the constitutional right to ask questions from the members of the opposition as well as the ruling party in the Assembly.
Members in the Assembly cannot raise any questions on the policies or actions of the government nor can they raise the voice of the people of their area.
