The Station House Officer (SHO) of Bindapur police station has been shunted out for allegedly working in cahoots with land-grabbers at Matiala village in Southwest Delhi, according to the Vigilance Branch report.
Bindapur SHO Vijay Pal allegedly connived with musclemen and anti-social elements, who worked for a land-grabbing gang and were threatening the complainant.
They had their eyes on an ancestral land inherited by the complainant and had allegedly forged sales deed for the same, said a senior official at Delhi Police’s vigilance branch.
During the probe, it emerged that the complainant had filed several complaints at the local police station and made PCR calls about anti-social elements coming regularly to their land, armed with pistols, revolvers and guns in order to terrorise them and their tenant, but the local police did not take legal action against them, said the senior official.
On the intervention of senior officers, a case was registered against the anti-social elements but on the very next day a cross case was registered against the complainants on certain allegations which have so far turned out to be false and motivated, the official added.
“The SHO has been shifted out on the orders of Commissioner of Police BS Bassi following an enquiry conducted by the Vigilance Branch. Action was recommended in the matter by the Vigilance Branch to the Police Headquarters, since the SHO failed to exhibit upright conduct and tried to distort the facts,” said Delhi Police spokesperson Rajan Bhagat, adding that the SHO has presently been transferred to a “non-sensitive” unit.
