After the apex court rapped on the knuckle that Delhi MlAs are drawing salary for doing nothing, Delhi Congress MlA from Badli Devendra Yadav on Wednesday refunded his five months salary to lieutenant Governor.
Having taken a cue from its MlA, the Congress is planning to take high moral ground to refund the salary of all its MlAs since they are doing nothing. Political observers say that this step by the Congress will surely put pressure on the BJP and AAP and both parties may also ask its MlAs to refund their salary to state treasury. The apex court has observed last week that Delhi’s MlAs are drawing salary without doing anything.
Delhi Congress MlA Devendra Yadav told The Pioneer that he has refunded Rs 2.66 lakh (five months salary) to lieutenant Governor. “There is no use to take salary from the Government without doing anything,” Yadav added.
