It was a bad day for commuters on Thursday as traffic in different parts of the city was thrown out of gear due to scattered rain in the morning. later in the evening, a procession and breakdown of two DTC buses slowed down traffic in central Delhi areas.

According to traffic officials, heavy traffic was reported in Dilshad Garden, Peeragarhi to Mundka and Moti Bagh Flyover due to the rainfall. Apart from that slow traffic movement was also reported on Wazirabad Bridge due to the rain due to which, traffic was diverted for over an hour from Khajuri Chowk to Shastri Park and Wazirabad to ISBT Kashmere Gate. There was no respite for the commuters traveling through central Delhi areas in the afternoon and late evening either as a procession slowed down traffic at Ashoka Road, Patel Chowk and Boota Singh Roundabout.

While the effect of slow traffic trickled to nearby areas, the situation was made worse by breakdown of two DTC buses: one at laxmi Nagar T-point and another near ITO. Due the same, traffic was affected in the carriageway from Nirman Vihar to ITO and areas near laxmi Nagar. It was only around 8 pm that normal traffic movement was restored in the area.
