Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR against a placement agency on the complaint of Kailash Chand Samaria, a Joint Secretary posted with the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Samaria in his complaint stated that he has been cheated by a placement agency. He had paid money to the agency owners for sending a cook and maid to his office but those responsible for running the placement agency did not do that.

According to a senior police official, Samaria, who was also the former director in the coal ministry and an accused in the Coal Scam, needed a maid servant and a cook for 3 months for which he had asked his personal staff to enquire. Samaria’s staff then searched online and came in touch with an official of M/s Kippon Placement services.

“Samaria’s personal staff searched the internet and came in touch a Ms Meena of Kippon Placement services and the woman said that Rs6,500 would have to be paid as advance for the domestic help and in addition to that, Rs5,000 would be needed to pay per month as salary,” said the police official.

After Samaria’s personal staff spoke to the woman, the IAS officer himself spoke to the woman at length.

“She assured me to send two candidates by the evening itself and informed that on discontinuing the contract, Rs500 will be deducted from the yearly charges and the balance will be refunded. Then she sent me the terms and conditions and bank details on my personal email account from the email id kipponplacementservices@gmail.com and I immediately transferred a sum of Rs6,500 on their bank account,” said Samaria alleged.

The company next day again sent a mail to Samaria giving the address of the placement agency which is in Navi Mumbai and said that they would send two candidates by 8pm in the evening but no one arrived at the officer’s office at Nirman Bhawan in Delhi, said police.

“Samaria’s personal staff again contacted the agency and they said that they would soon send the candidates but no one came and when contacted again no one picked up the calls anymore,” said the police official.

“On surfing the net, I came to know that lots of similar complaints have been made in the past against the Kippon Placement services from all over the country,” alleged Samaria.

An FIR regarding the matter was registered under sections of cheating and police is investigating the matter from all angles.
