Among the students of Delhi University (DU) who would be awarded Doctorate degrees by President Ram Nath Kovind during the 94th annual convocation on Saturday, there will be a 60-year-old man standing as odd man out along with them. About 621 students would be awarded Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in various disciplines.
It may be bit surprising for many as at an age when person starts planning about the life after his retirement, SK Sinha, an Associate Professor of Geography at DU’s Bhagat Singh Evening College will receive the doctorate’s degree from the President.
Sinha, who did his PhD on “Urban Sprawl in Gautam Budh Nagar” said the Noida’s development is unplanned, unorganised and unsustainable. Sinha has one daughter who is 25 years old and is employed somewhere in Dwarka. Sinha will receive Ph.D along with the students who are almost half of his age or are at the age of her daughter.
