Cocking a snook over police deployment, unidentified miscreants on Friday afternoon allegedly broke the window glass of an Asian Games 2018, shooter Silver medalist and took away his three bags containing 0.22 mm 200 live cartridges, 400 empty shells, cash and documents. The incident was reported in the Ambedkar Nagar area of South Dlhi.
According to a senior police official, the incident occurred around 2 pm on Friday when Deepak Kumar, who hails from Ambala in Haryana, along with other shooters Kajal a resident of Rohtak and Ravi Rathi, a resident of Sampla in Haryana, had come to submit some documents with the National Rifle Association office near Tughlaqabad Institutional area.
“I had to go to Germany in January for which I had come for my documents verification here. I had parked my Honda WRV car outside the office premises and along with others was in NRA office when an office employee came and told me that someone had broken my car’s window following which I rushed to the car.
The miscreants took away three bags carrying ammunition, cash, documents and other items, leaving our rifles in car,” said a distraught Deepak Kumar.
“A case under appropriate sections has been registered at Ambedkar Nagar Police Station. Police team is scanning CCTV camera in the area to identify the accused persons,” said senior police official.
