In just a span of over two months, the bureaucracy in Delhi has undergone yet another rejig. Arun Goyal, a 1985 batch officer would now be the new Principal Secretary (Power). He has replaced Puneet Kumar Goel who will now be the Vice-Chairman of State-owned PPCl and IPGl while Arun Goyal would be chairman of the same.
It is pertinent to mention here that soon after former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal took charge of the Government, there was major reshuffle in the bureaucracy. Arun Goyal was holding the charge of Secretary-cum-Commissioner (Food and Supplies) and had earlier worked in the power department five years ago. Puneet Goel, who was earlier holding the position of Transport Secretary during the Congress Government, before heading the power department is awaiting his posting orders, sources said.
Meanwhile, Rajendra Kumar, a 1989 batch officer, who was secretary to former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has now been transferred and posted as Secretary (Urban Development) and Director of local Bodies. Similarly, Sajjan Singh Yadav, a 1985 batch officer, who was holding the charge of Directorate of local Bodies (DlB), has been transferred as Secretary-cum-Commissioner (Food and Supplies).
In December 28 last year, the Arvind Kejriwal-led Government had performed a major bureaucratic reshuffle by changing secretaries of the power, transport and finance departments along with the Delhi Jal Board (DJB).
