The list of 550 interviewers who will appear for the post of senior residents doctors and heads of department of the Orthopaedics at Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC) has raised eyebrows after the faculty Association of MAMC and Associated Hospitals have pointed out glaring irregularities.
The Faculty Association has urged to stop the interview process for the post of Senior Orthopaedics as they have claimed gross violation of the standard practice being followed for the selection in two prestigious medical colleges of the city Government.
Sources said it is a matter of record that such irregularities has not been happened in the past ever for the selection of Senior Residents Doctors and HOD ship of the department of Orthopaedics at MAMC.
According to the letter, the Chairman of the Board is Dr PK Malik who is neither the Director /principle of medical superintendent of the institutions as laid down in the guidelines of the residency scheme issued by the Central Government.
"It mentioned, Dr Anil Dhal. The letter read, Dr Dhal is not the Head of the Department of the subject as is in practice and norm of all institution since decades. After attaining the age of 62, he superannuated from administrative work in August of the current year. He cannot be part of any selection process as he has retired now. Also he bears the designation of professor of excellence and is not the Director-Professor as laid down in the guidelines of the residency scheme issued by the Central Government,” the letter said.
"The other subject expert Dr Il Dhami from GTB hospital is not a teacher and belongs to the non-teaching cadre and thus is not entitled even to the post of head of the clinical unit of a medical college. He has been packed up with certain oblique motives by passing the seniority and proprieties of selecting work force in a Medical College. Such gross deviation from the prevalent and established practice can surely smack of some ill motives and deserves to be stopped," the letter said.
