Continuing their anti- encroachment drive against squatters, Municipal Corporations in Delhi have impounded 131 vehicles and seized 294 different articles. A senior Corporation's official said that 42 illegal constructions were also sealed in Tikri Kala, Seemapuri and Aman Vihar.
The civic bodies on Wednesday targeted areas of JJ Colony Wazirpur, SP Mukherjee Civic Centre, New Delhi, Mata Sundari College, Kamla Market, Mori Gate, Kashmiri Gate, Khoya Mandi, Mukarba Chowk to Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar, Millitary Road and D B Gupta Road, Hyderpur Chowk to Sector-18, Rohini and Peergarhi chowk to Nangloi Chowk, MB Road, Rangpuri Village, Mahipalpur, lado Sarai, Shahdara to Nathu Colony, Durga Puri to Samshan Ghat, Kabir Nagarand New Friends Colony.
The official said that the action was taken on the direction Special Task Force (STF) constituted by the Supreme Court. The force comprises top officials from the Delhi Development Authority (DDA), Delhi Police, all the three municipal corporations and the New Delhi Municipal Council.
