Making the Assembly elections this year more user-friendly, the Chief Electoral Officer of Delhi has launched a new Android app Delhi Election which allows city’s voters to search for voter ID card details.
The app would allow them to find out which Assembly constituency the voter falls under, check application status (for Form 6, 6A, 7, 8, 8A and 002) and to know the voter centre address, among other features.
The voters can also find out about their Election Officers (District Election Officer,
SDM (Election), Electoral Registration Officer, Assistant Electoral Registration Officer) and others on electoral duty.
“Through the app, the Booth-level Officer (BlO) would categorise the voters, either locality-wise or through voter ID card number. It also contains important links like application for new registrations, correction or change of address,” said an official.
Meanwhile, a Facebook page — Delhi Chief Election Commissioner — has also been made to create awareness among voters regarding the upcoming polls. Various election-related posters have been uploaded for the convenience of voters on how to verify their name in the voters list. Apart from the contact details, the app specifies all steps that are needed to be taken to verify their name in the list.
