Amanatullah targeting me: Tiwari

A day after the unsavoury scuffle between Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) legislator of Okhla Assembly seat Amanatullah Khan and Delhi BJP president and Lok Sabha member of North-east Delhi Parliamentary seat, Manoj Tiwari during the inauguration ceremony of Signature Bridge, five complaints have been lodged with Usmanpur police station against AAP workers.

Relating the whole incident with sealing drive ahead of the General Elections — 2019, the Delhi unit BJP president said that AAP leader is targeting him because he raised voice against the “Pick and Choose” strategy of Environment Pollution Control Agency (EPAC) on sealing. Speaking to The Pioneer, Tiwari said,  “Khan is MLA from Okhla, and not even a single shop or property in his areas was sealed during EPCA’s sealing drive. I raised this point in Supreme Court and hence he is targeting me.”

When asked about the scuffle, Tiwari said that why they were not allowing me to attend the event despite the fact that I was invited by Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia.

“It was my constituency and my presence was required, so I went, they claim themselves a representative of “aam aadmi”, do they require any formal invite, he replied when asked AAP leaders were not invited during Metro launch  and other MCD infrastructure project launches.

Meanwhile, Delhi BJP General Secretary Rajesh Bhatia also criticised AAP leaders for their behaviour towards Tiwari. Bhatia said that in the past too, such incidents had taken place. They had assaulted Chief Secretary of Delhi in midnight at Chief Minister’s residence after summoning him on the pretext of meeting.
