The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) has sought a response of the Director, AIIMS on a plea by ex-CVO of the institute Sanjiv Chaturvedi seeking perjury proceedings against the Director.
On May 25, senior Indian Forest Service officer, Chaturvedi, moved the Tribunal and demanded that all the work for which the post of Deputy Secretary at AIIMS was created should be allocated to him.
In 2011 June 23, the Health Ministry issued the orders which says the job description for the post of Deputy Secretary has the task of monitoring and supervision of infrastructure projects going on in the institute, management and control of the institute and coordination with multi-disciplinary experts.
It has been three years since Chaturvedi has joined and till now, he has been not allotted the assigned duties according to the post. He has demanded that the order of the Health Ministry should be quickly implemented as he is totally 'jobless' for the past one year after being removed from the post of CVO.
Instead, Chaturvedi has been given job to look after the guest house booking, grievances and pensions of the AIIMS staff and officials.
According to his petition, this all is being done to protect the large scale corruption undergoing in the institute.
"When Chaturvedi was CVO, he unearthed many irregularities in the administration and due to his enquiry report S.E of the institute was terminated and Chargesheet was filed against the then Deputy Director Administration of AIIMS."
The plea also said the director on June 23, 2011, had given the order regarding work allocation of the Health Ministry has been implemented in "letter and spirit".
