Following the lieutenant Governor’s office directives, the finance department of Delhi Government has refused to grant fund to Commission of Enquiry headed by retired (justice) SN Aggarwal to probe the CNG fitness scam involving several Delhi Government officials, including three IAS officers.
The directive issued by the lieutenant Governor’s office on September 17 following the direction of Home Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi declaring the Commission of Enquiry as illegal and ab initio void.
Taking a note of the l-G office directive, the finance department has noted that since the Commission of Enquiry has been declared illegal and ab initio void, the fund cannot be granted for functioning of the Commission.
The Delhi Government has also ordered withdrawal of officer who was deputed as secretary to Commission of Enquiry.
