The Abhibhavak Manch, which is spearheading an agitation against fee hike by public schools, has widened its stir by including 19 other public schools and three branches of DPS Ghaziabad. The schools against which the manch is protesting include prestigious schools like Saint Paul Academy, Uttam School for Girls, Ryan International, Ingraham Institute, Sanskar and Gurukul School.
The manch has been stating round-the-clock sit in at the Collectorate here for the last three days. On Wednesday, Mahesh Ahuja, the patron of the Abhibhavak Sangh said that the Manch has given ultimatum to the district administration to address issue raised by the parents’ by April 24. “If solution is not provided within the stipulated time, children and other family members will join the dharna,” he said.
Meanwhile, Parmarth Samiti, a social organisation, has announced to file a petition before the competent court. VK Agrawal, the convenor of the Samiti, said he would go to the court to provide justice to the parents and slash the fee unaffordable by the middle class parents.
District magistrate SVS Ranga Rao has also assured the parents that he would look into the matter and said he was inspecting the land allotment files so that a strong case could be made against the schools if the matter went to the court.
