The AAP has alleged that the two proposed landfill sites at Ghoda Gujran and Sonia Vihar will ruin the life of residents of the area. The AAP held a protest at Khajuri Khas against BJP and also decided to file an appeal before the National Green Tribunal (NGT) against the land-fill sites.
The AAP targeted BJP chief Manoj Tiwari, alleging that he is telling lies by holding Delhi Government responsible for it. “In the case of garbage disposal site, the BJP-ruled DDA has given the land to the BJP-ruled MCDs. But Tiwari is holding the Delhi Government responsible for it,” said AAP national spokesperson Dilip Pandey.
“The mountain of garbage is proving dangerous for the local population in many ways. This will ruin the lives of those who sustain themselves on rent income,” he said.
A survey conducted after the formation of land-filling sites has revealed that there has been significant increase in the cases of skin and lung cancer, Asthma etc , due to which life of local people have become miserable, Pandey said.
