The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is considering taking “legal” action against those trying to “malign” its legislators, the party said in view of the affidavit filed against its ten MlAs in the Delhi Assembly. Saying that the court did not even find the affidavit “discussible”, the party on Thursday said, “The affidavit was primarily given to the Delhi High Court, to malign its party legislators.”
The Delhi Assembly, using its privilege power, had sentenced two protesters two one month in prison for creating a ruckus inside the House.
“The two persons in question had filed a false affidavit in court alleging they were assaulted by ten AAP MlAs, but the High Court has refused to entertain the affidavit.”
“The affidavit which was solely aimed at maligning the image of the ten MlAs was rejected by the Delhi High Court since it did not merit any cognisance,” it said.
To malign the AAP legislators, the affidavit was highlighted in the media, the party alleged.
