AAP to appoint 3K block chiefs under Mera Booth Sabse Mazboot campaign

In a bid to revamp its organisational structure and give a boost to its constituency in Delhi, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday announced the appointment of 3,000 block presidents under the campaign “Mera Booth Sabse Mazboot” in the national Capital. The AAP also launched a “Janata Darbar” from this week where all its MlAs and Ministers will meet the common people of Delhi “without any prior appointment.”

This move comes weeks after the civic elections in the city where the main rival BJP swept away the polls. The AAP legislators and Ministers will open the meetings or darbar for common people at 10.00 am every day. The AAP legislators and ministers will also visit their respective areas every weekend.

The newly appointed Delhi Convener of the AAP, Gopal Rai said the party has appointment of 3,000 block presidents in Delhi and in the coming days, will appoint 700 more to complete the total blocks of 3,700 in the city.

“Till June we will cover all the booths of Delhi and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal would also participate in the campaign,” he said in a press conference while sources said the party is massively trying to revamp its party at the grassroots after the recent drubbing in civic polls and bypoll election at Delhi’s Punjabi Bagh.

“The party has also decided that every person associated with the party will have to take charge of organisational building in their own polling booth,” Rai added.

Rai also informed that regional chairmen will be appointed on 13,372 booths and after 15 June. “The workers’ conference will be held in all the assemblies. The party workers and Delhi’s CM Arvind Kejriwal will also join the workers’ conference convened in all the assemblies,” he said.

Rai claimed that the AAP is growing as a national option in today’s political environment and the aim of the party is to make the best organisation in the country.

The party faced a hard time in its debut elections in Punjab and Goa. The recent corruption allegations against Kejriwal, by his sacked ex-Minister Kapil Mishra have created a stir within the party.
