AAP talks of promises just for political motives: Gupta

Published on:

leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly, Vijender Gupta has said that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) stands by its promises as long as their political motives are served.

Referring to the launching of two U-Special bus trips between Hauz Khaz Metro Station and Delhi University, South Campus in 2015 as demanded by Chatra Yuva Sangharsh Samiti (CYSS), Gupta said that launching of new "U-Special" bus trips before DUSU elections and withdrawal of the same immediately after CYSS lost these elections shows that both these decision were fully motivated by political expediency."

"In fact with the absence of U-Special buses in Delhi, the issue of Rs12.50 concessional pass to the students has become meaningless," he said. "It is important to mention here that after the loss of DUSU elections by CYSS, Delhi Government has forgotten its promise of opening 20 new degree colleges as it has failed to open one such college so far," he added.

Gupta has demanded that Delhi Government must provide special buses for all students of Delhi who have to travel from far off areas.

He has also said that the majority of the students now travel by Delhi Metro which has increased fares in May and raise these fares further upward in October.
