AAP slams door in Vijender's face?

The going seems to be getting tougher for the three BJP MlAs in the Delhi Assembly. Vijender Gupta, leader of the BJP legislature party in the Delhi Assembly was left red-faced on Wednesday as he was welcomed with a locked door when he wanted to address the media in the leader of Opposition’s room in the Assembly house. While Gupta alleged of harassment by the new Government, officials in the Assembly stated that no room has been allotted to any political party yet.

For over 15 years, rooms 29 and 30 in the Delhi Assembly have been occupied by the BJP as it has always been the Opposition in the House. A fuming Gupta said, “Even after the new Government took charge, these rooms have remained opened. Why was it locked today (Friday) just before the Press meet that I was about to holdIJ It is outright harassment inflicted on us by the Kejriwal dispensation.”

When The Pioneer sought to know the reason for suddenly locking the two rooms, Secretary (Delhi Assembly) lR Garg said, “The Assembly has not allocated any room to anyone (read political party) till date. The said room was allotted to BJP as it was principal Opposition party in the Delhi Assembly for the last 15 years. We have not yet received an allotment order. The Government has not yet given Gupta the position of lOP.”

Meanwhile, Gupta went on to say that the Aam Aadmi Party Government’s first month’s performance has grossly disappointed the people of Delhi. “The Government has failed to bring the Delhi Budget on time and has gone in for vote-on-account, something which should be resorted to only in rare circumstances. For most part of this month, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been away from the Secretariat. Instead, the public work Ministers and the Secretariat staff have been busy gossiping on ruling party feuds.”

He further added, “In one month of this Government, a moral scandal too has come out as Faizabad’s Dr RMl Avadh University has in a letter sent to Bar Council of Delhi told that graduation degree on the basis of which Delhi Minister Jitender Singh Tomar took admission in a llB course is bogus. University has denied issuing any graduation degree to Jitender Singh Tomar.”
