The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has decided not to participate in any proceedings of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ruled north corporation untill the time mayor resign from the post, senior party leader Durgesh Pathak said on Friday.
The AAP in charge of municipal corporations, Pathak on Thursday had accused the BJP North Delhi Municipal Corporation mayor Jai Prakash of “illegally occupying” land owned by the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB). However, the BJP refuted claim saying that the mayor had exposed them (AAP) and that seems like the only reason for them to stoop to personal allegations now.
Pathak said that BJP mayor Jai Prakash has claimed that he took the DUSIB property on rent from Oct 2020 but in reality, the meter was installed in Feb 2020. He said that all the documents provided by North MCD mayor are fraudulent.
The AAP leader said that the Delhi BJP Chief Adesh Gupta and organization secretary Siddharthan should decide whether they want to be at the side of North MCD mayor or not. Pathak further said that the BJP-ruled North MCD showed fake documents pertaining to the DUSIB occupation of land, Mayor should resign from his post
"I have studied those documents presented by me yesterday to support my claim and today based on the document presented by the BJP mayor I want to expose him again.
On 10th July 2019 the local SHO filed a complaint against Prakash’s son regarding the illegal construction. On 29 February 2020, the meter was installed in the name of Shri Prakash’s son. Prakash has claimed that he has taken this land on rent on 9 October 2020," he said.
"On behalf of the AAP, I want to know that if he has taken the house on rent from October 2020 then how can the meter of the house be installed six months back? Now if you look into the power of attorney document then you will see that the mayor has claimed he has taken the second and the third floor on rent but according to documents the son of Jaiprakash is paying the rent only for the first floor," he said.
"It is very clear that the BJP mayor has illegally occupied the land of the DUSIB. When the local police and DUSIB found the illegal occupancy then the BJP mayor found some way out and made this fraud documents of rents and others," he said.
Leader of Opposition in north Corporation Vikas Goel said, “ The AAP has exposed the corruption of the BJP ruled North MCD mayor. Today in the house of North MCD the party's councillors asked for the resignation of the mayor," he said.
