Delhi BJP on Thursday slammed the AAP alleging that Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia is trying to mislead the public and the saffron party has nothing to do with the recovery notice sent to them by the Delhi Government’s Directorate of Information & Publicity (DIP).
BJP MP Manoj Tiwari said that the BJP demands that AAP's bank account should be seized and the money should be recovered from the bank accounts of the party leaders who used the funds for their publicity.
"The AAP wasted the taxpayers' money. The fund which was supposed to be used for development of the poor has been used for the publicity of the party and leaders. They also tried seeking a stay on this recovery order but the High Court did not entertain them," the BJP MP alleged. Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Ramvir Singh Bidhuri alleged that the recovery order is the result of the wrongdoings of the AAP and the BJP or bureaucracy has nothing to do with it. “Manish Sisodia is mischievously linking this matter with the issue of control over officers in the national Capital, on which a hearing is going on in the Supreme Court.
The truth is that the AAP looted the people's hard-earned money after forming the Government, and the committee, directed by the SC, told the Delhi Government to recover this amount from the party,” he underlined.
“The Delhi Government has also gone to the High Court and the Supreme Court against this order, but it did not get any relief there. That is why this recovery has now been ordered,” Bidhuri alleged.
Delhi BJP working president Virendra Sachdeva said that the recovery notice sent by the DIP is proof that Kejriwal has used the hard earned money of the people of the national Capital by giving advertisements instead of using it to build schools, hospitals etc, in Delhi.
“By when will the AAP reimburse the money which was used to polish Kejriwal’s image?” asked Sachdeva.
Taking a dig at the AAP, BJP’s spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla said that “they should pay up instead of playing victim card” and called it “AAP - Aur Advertisement-vali Party”.
He took to Twitter and wrote, "Notice issued to AAP Govt for payment of Rs163 cr within ten days should be welcomed. AAP = Aur Advertisement-vali Party. It blew up public money for political advt in violation of SC order, Delhi HC order. They should pay up instead of playing victim card!"
