The AAP on Wednesday released local manifestos for 28 constituencies in the Capital keeping focus on traffic, sanitation and other basic amenities — including potable water and health infrastructure.

The constituencies, whose manifestos were released, include New Delhi, Matia Mahal, Ballimaran, Narela, Matiala and Bijwasan, among others. Targeting the rural areas like Bijwasan and Narela, the party focused on their basic problems like

non-availability of clean potable water, irregular supply of electricity and poor sanitation.

“The area is dirty and deprived of clean water. We will make available clean 700 litres of water and also fix the sewerage system. The place will be cleared of garbage and there will be sincere work to keep the areas clean and free of stench,” promised the party in its manifesto for Bijwasan.

For areas like Matia Mahal, the issue of women safety remains the prime concern for the party. “There will be dal (groups) to ensure women, child and senior citizens safety. The jhuggis will not be demolished and efficient steps will be taken in the direction of better education facilities and health infrastructure,” the manifesto said. The party will soon release manifestos for other constituencies, said the party members. The party constituted a team of eight-ten members to study and prepare the manifestos for all constituencies.

Meanwhile, the AAP replied to the Election Commission’s notice on violation of code of conduct by appealing to Muslims in the Capital to vote for them on religious grounds. “Addressing the members of a class or community does not by itself amount to appealing on the basis of class or communal considerations,” said the party while responding to the notice.
