AAP protests outside Jaitley's house, BJP strikes back

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) members on Tuesday protested outside BJP leader Arun Jaitley’s house in East of Kailash following which BJP workers too hit back and held a counter-protest against the party, particularly targeting Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.

While the AAP supporters accused Jaitley of trying to topple its minority government in Delhi, Jaitley said the AAP did not know about governance and was more comfortable holding street protests. Police have detained 150 AAP supporters for creating ruckus in Kailash Colony area but they were later let off from Greater Kailash police station of South-East district.

Reacting to the development, Jaitley said the AAP does not know statecraft and how to run a government. AAP was perhaps unable to do the work they were mandated to do and their comfort level is to keep holding street demonstrations. Amid the protest, Jaitley came out of his house and thanked the party workers for their support while slamming the AAP.

On Tuesday morning, a number of AAP protesters gathered outside Jaitley’s residence in Kailash Colony area, raised slogans and held up banners criticising Jaitley. The BJP workers, countering the protest, shouted slogans against Kejriwal and accused him of not fulfilling the promises he made to the people of Delhi before the December 4 assembly elections.

“It is strange that the party made allegation one day without any basis and reached to protest next day against whom they made allegation with evidence. Their agitation would have justified, had there been some evidences or indictment by constitutional bodies like CAG, CVC or court,” said a BJP worker. A senior police officer said that they have received information about the protest on Monday night and they also came to know that the AAP supporters were sending messages to all the people to come for protest.
