AAP non-serious, forcing re-election, says battle ready BJP

As the Aam Aadmi Party has sought five days’ time to come up with their final decision on formation of Government in Delhi on Tuesday, the Delhi BJP however, said that they (AAP leaders) are non-serious and are forcing re-election on the people of the city.

Responding to the announcement made by the AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal, president of the State unit of BJP Vijay Goel, said that his party did not come forward as it did not have adequate numbers but the AAP is clearly backing out even though the Congress had already given assurance for outside support. Meanwhile, the BJP leader said the party is battle ready for another round of Assembly polls as no breakthrough has been accomplished over formation of Government yet.

“The BJP did not have the required numbers of votes so we could not form the Government. But the Congress had promised unconditional support to AAP and it now has necessary numbers but they are still running away and refuse to form the Government, which indicates they are not serious towards the woes of Delhiites,” said Goel.

A meeting of the Election Core Group for Delhi was also held at the State BJP headquarters to review the situation and discuss the future strategy. The meeting was attended among others by Delhi election in-charge Nitin Gadkari and co-incharge Navjot Singh Sidhu.

“The party has decided to go back to the people through a three-pronged strategy, door-to-door campaign, public meetings and social media campaign. The BJP cadres would communicate to the people on how AAP’s non-serious approach has forced another election upon Delhiites and how the BJP has been striving hard to fight the misrule of the Congress for last 15 years. The BJP further believes that now it is the most feasible and viable alternative,” said Goel.

He added that the BJP is going to keep special focus on youth and women. The youth and women wings of the party will be further geared up to meet the challenge of expanding our base further amongst these two sections.

“In addition to these measures, a three-member working group is being set up which will visit various Assembly segments and assess the performance of various BJP legislators. The BJP legislators have been informed that even though we are not in power but we will take care of every opportunity to cater to the issues of Delhiites,” he added.

On the occasion, Gadkari said that the BJP has emerged as the single largest party and the first choice of the people of Delhi. “The party cadres need to work even harder now to

fulfill the aspirations of Delhiites. If elections are held again, the BJP will emerge much stronger with a clear majority,” added Gadkari.
